Job Purpose
To drive Cost and Sustainability initiatives and develop programs primarily around energy and resource conservation, smart consumption recycling and waste management. In addition to above S/he shall actively engage all the stakeholders and help school integrate and communicate sustainability best practices. The ideal candidate will share our passion and support our ability to develop and deliver on our goals.


Job  Outline
The incumbent as a Senior Manager will report to the Associate Director.

ISB is spread across 260 acres campus with 1.3 million SFT of buildup area. The incumbent will be responsible for doing cost and sustainable initiatives across the campus and acts as the single point of contact for all the Sustainable initiatives on day to day basis on energy, air, water, material procurements, waste management.

The jobholder as Senior Manager – Operations reports to the Associate Director (Engineering) and is has to work closely with departments to drive the Cost and sustainable initiatives continuously. S/he has to generate reports, understand and data trends, comparing the changes month on month, publish dashboards and create metrics for usage of parameters such as energy, water, paper, waste recycling, material procurment .

  • Understands the schools requirements to achieve favorable outcomes (i.e. cost reduction on Energy, Water, and other sustainable areas).
  • Can understand the pulse of the organization and effectively communicate the needs of employees as a whole to management.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with various departments, focus Groups at school level.
  • Encourages healthy debate effectively challenges the status quo; openly expresses views and provides candid and constructive solutions to teammates and managers.
  • Delivers and receives constructive feedback with a positive mindset and strives to improve personal effectiveness based upon feedback.





Process Orientation

  • Develops and drives cost initiative strategic environmental sustainability programs across various departments of school to bring about cost savings and positive environmental impact.
  • Perform moderate to highly complex forecasting and cost/benefit analysis that translates, and identifies strategic initiatives into actionable projects, and pursues opportunities to further enhance program scope.
  • Provides leadership and direction to drive cultural change across organizational units in support of environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Executes reporting activities to drive and communicate program delivery and results.
  • Leverages opportunities and capabilities across organizational boundaries to accomplish goals.
  • Applies judgment and proposes long-term solutions to resolve highly complex issues and needs.
  • Sustainability goals meet or exceed expectations.
  • Periodically generate a consolidated MIS of the data sourced from different service providers.

Special projects and Multi task

  • Energy Audits which will identify the potential savings and carbon foot prints
  • Is responsible for handling all the special projects such as LEED certification
  • Sustainability projects on energy and water reduction and other related projects.
  • And is responsible to handle cross functional jobs like involving in the Engineering designs for the upcoming projects.

Good track record in driving cultural awareness, CSR and process improvement, strong desire and passion to make a difference, grow, drive, and learn.
Must possess analytical rigor, able to work independently as well as part of a core team.
Advanced presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Ability to interface with different department via strong written and oral communications skills
Awareness on daily operations of Mechanical, electrical operations.

Experience:
Overall 8-10 years
3-4 years of progressive work experience in sustanainable development and/or environmental studies.

  • Working hand in hand with engineering team for reduction of energy / water consumption

  • Interaction with ISB stakeholders (OSC, Marketing and communications team) for driving and reporting initiative on campus.
